Dehart Park
The City of Kelowna is excited to announce the opening of DeHart Park on Saturday, May 3. Join us for free family-friendly activities and explore the new park space at the DeHart Park opening event.
Date: Saturday, May 3
Time: 10 a.m. to noon
Location: 687 DeHart Road
Attendees are encouraged to consider alternative transportation methods like walking, biking, or taking transit to reach the new community park.
Park washroom construction is scheduled for the summer and fall of this year, while the pump track requires fencing, irrigation and landscaping work prior to opening to the public. The park also has over 250 new deciduous and coniferous trees and 11,000 bulbs, grasses, shrubs, and perennials. Newly seeded and planted areas have been fenced to allow for proper irrigation and establishment and appreciate the public support in respecting these growing areas. Please abide by posted construction signage and fencing to ensure everyone’s safety while in the area.
Located in Lower Mission, DeHart Park is a top focus amongst three major community parks in the City’s new Parks Development Cost Charge program allowing for design & construction in 2023-25. DeHart Park is envisioned as a vibrant focal point in the neighbourhood that will serve diverse age groups and abilities through a variety of park features and amenities.
