APPLY FOR BLOCK PARTY SUPPORT

Excited to spread joy and strengthen community bonds? We can help with pre-event planning, day-of supplies/materials/games and on-site support to help make your neighbourhood event a success. Apply for block party support now - spots are filling up!

Hosting an event can be a great way to build connections and create a more vibrant, safer and welcoming neighbourhood.

Take, for example, the residents of Terai Road who came together to clean up a forested berm at their housing complex. What started as teamwork over accomplished a common goal, quickly led to conversation, new friendships, and a sense of comfort and safety with each other. With the support of the Neighbourhood Event Support Program, they rewarded their hard work with a BBQ social, celebrating a job well done and the shared pride they now felt for their community.

Apply for block party support today!

BENEFITS OF KNOWING YOUR NEIGHBOURS

Did you know that interactions between neighbours greatly impact feelings of safety, well-being, and community identity? Knowing the skills and passions of those around us fosters stronger connections and support.

The Block Connector program is a grassroots initiative designed to help neighbours get to know each other better. With a dedicated person on the block to build and maintain these connections, residents are more likely to feel included and connected, enhancing their sense of belonging in the neighbourhood.
