News Release

Kelowna’s thriving not-for-profit organizations are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the people behind them. To support this important sector, board members, directors, staff and volunteers from the Okanagan and beyond are invited to the 3rd annual Inspired City Summit held on April 5 at the Coast Capri Hotel. This conference, made possible with the support of United Way , First West Credit Union , Central Okanagan Foundation , and EQ Development Group , provides a day of peer connection, learning with workshops, presentations, panel discussions and networking sessions designed to connect the sector and address the unique challenges faced by non-profit organizations.

This year’s Inspired City Summit, titled EVOLVE, will begin with a morning mixer, followed by a keynote address by TEDx Speaker, Matteo Stewart.  In the afternoon participants can choose from 15 unique speaker sessions and enjoy an end-of-day networking event. “We are really excited about the quality and variety of sessions that are offered this year.  We selected a line-up of expert speakers to share content and facilitate discussions. From smaller grass roots organizations to large established organizations, we think there is something valuable for every organization,” said Sara Thirnbeck, Community Development Coordinator and conference organizer. Limited tickets remain and are $75 per participant, which includes lunch.

“The Inspired City Summit is a once-a-year opportunity for more than 200 local non-profit leaders and community builders to come together, grow their capacity, learn from each other, develop meaningful partnerships and discover new opportunities,” said Christine McWillis, Cultural Services Manager. “We’re proud to once again deliver the Inspired City Summit as a way of supporting organizations in their mission to bring joy, entertain, educate and foster community within our beautiful city.”
