Winter Banner Program
City of Kelowna announces 2024 Winter Street Banner Program Artists
In the spring of 2024, the City of Kelowna invited local artists to submit original designs and artwork for display on street light banners in Kelowna’s Cultural District as part of the 2024 Winter Street Banner Program.
We are pleased to announce that the opportunity closed on June 28th and the successful design submission was awarded to local artists Liz and Dylan Ranney of JOMAE. The Kelowna based husband and wife duo have been creating murals and artwork together in British Columbia for over 10 years. Together, they create bright and bold large-scale wall art that brings character and vibrancy to streets and spaces. Their collaborative style merges contemporary design aesthetic & illustration, with nuanced elements of realism. Their bold and bright banners depict local landmarks and seasonal activities, capturing Kelowna as a destination of choice.
The final designs by the Ranneys are expected to be installed each November and displayed annually.
Look for the Ranney’s banners flying over the downtown Cultural District streets, spanning both sides of the road, from the Queensway/Water traffic circle to the Water/Sunset intersection, creating a vibrant visual presence in the winter air.
We would truly like to thank all the artists that submitted applications for the Winter Banner Program and encourage you to apply for future City of Kelowna artist opportunities.
