Solar hot water ready requirements

The Solar Hot Water Ready requirements for single family homes is one of the steps the Province is taking in fulfilling its promise for climate action. The City of Kelowna and all other communities that have requested inclusion by municipal council resolution are required to follow the regulation.

Designers are required to identify the location of solar panels on the roof surface for future installations. Contractors/builders are required to install the specified conduit at framing stage so that the installation can be verified by the plumbing inspector at rough in plumbing inspection.
