Project Overview:
With the scheduled resurfacing of Hartman Road, the City of Kelowna is working on a series of bike infrastructure and urbanization improvements to connect Rutland Road to the Rutland Recreation Park and Rutland Neighbourhood Bikeway, creating a comprehensive bike network. The improvements will also include improvements to drainage, curb and gutter, and trees to improve the green canopy. The project is guided by policies within the 2040 Official Community Plan and Transportation Master Plan. The bike network treatment along the corridor was presented at a community engagement in Summer 2024.
Project Scope:
The roadway will also be urbanized, which includes a new storm water management system, curb and gutter, sidewalk, parallel parking, tree planting in boulevards, bike lanes, and potential undergrounding of overhead utilities.
Timeline:
Project is in design 2025 and is tentatively scheduled for construction in spring 2026.

Construction Impacts:
Construction activities are anticipated to occur in 2026. Residents, businesses, and others impacted by construction will be provided with notice in advance.
