Project Overview
Phase 2 of the Glenmore Sanitary Trunk Connection project will see the northern extension of the Glenmore Sanitary Trunk from Union Road to Snowsell Road with a new 600 mm diameter PVC main. This project will be conducted alongside the first phase of the planned Glenmore Road widening project, which was advanced to align with the utility work.

The Glenmore Road widening project involves the widening of Glenmore Road from two lanes to four lanes, as identified in the Transportation Master Plan to help accommodate continued growth in the area. This project is included in the Transportation Accelerator Program (TAP) that identified several transportation projects for design and delivery sooner than originally planned.

Project Scope
The Glenmore Sanitary Trunk Connection project involves the construction of 1.5 km of a new 600 mm sanitary trunk main between Cross Road and Snowsell Road within the Glenmore Road corridor. This extension will re-route the flows in a more direct path to the wastewater treatment plant, significantly decreasing the risk of overburdening the smaller local mains. The first phase of the Glenmore Road widening project will expand the current road from two lanes to four lanes from Union Road to Scenic Road.

Timeline
Construction for both projects is anticipated to start mid-March. The Glenmore Sanitary Trunk Connection project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025, while the first phase of the Glenmore Road widening project is expected to be completed by winter of this year. Work hours are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with potential for night and weekend work to minimize impacts on residents. The second phase of the road widening from Scenic to north of Snowsell is planned for 2026.
