Spin into spring with GoByBike Week!
The City of Kelowna is encouraging Central Okanagan residents to gear up for another season of GoByBike Week, a province-wide initiative that encourages people to choose cycling, scootering or rollerblading as their main method of transportation to work, school, errands or recreation.
From June 3-9, explore Kelowna by bike or alternative wheels, create a free account now at gobybikebc.ca to register and log the number of kilometres you bike each day. Every ride counts, and logging just one ride enters individuals and teams to win locally-sponsored and province-wide prizes. The Spring GoByBike grand prize is a cycling adventure in Italy sponsored by Exodus Adventure Travels.
“Kelowna has approximately 400 kilometres of on-street bike lanes and off-street multi-use paths and trails,” says Suzanne Therrien, transportation planner. “Biking is a fun way to get outdoors and stay active, it’s also an affordable transportation option that can help you save money.”
More information about the events and prizes will be posted on theKelowna and Central Okanagan GoByBike Week community page in the coming weeks.
GoByBike Week Central Okanagan is proudly supported by the City of Kelowna, City of West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, District of Peachland, District of Lake Country, and the Regional District of Central Okanagan as well as the Province of British Columbia and GoByBike BC.
