Ward off those winter blues with Kelowna’s Winter Activity & Program Guide, now online at kelowna.ca/recreation. This season’s guide is filled with hundreds of ways to stay active, be creative or learn something new. Try an arts program, learn a new language, sign up for a sports league, join a fitness class or sign your young ones up for an after-school activity. There’s something for everyone in every neighbourhood!
“Winter can be a magical time in the city but darker days and cooler weather can also be challenging for some. We have dozens of indoor programs to help you stay active, have fun and connect with others all winter long,” says Mariko Siggers, Community & Neighbourhood Services Manager. “We have programs and events for all ages and abilities located in facilities across Kelowna. We hope that you’ll join us for something new!”
Winter registration dates and times:
- General programs: December 5 at 7 a.m.
- Adult sports and leagues: December 6 at 7 a.m.
- Aquatic and first aid programs: December 7 at 7 a.m.
- Adaptive programs: December 8 at 10 a.m.
Register online, by phone at 250-469-8800 or in person at Parkinson Recreation Centre (1800 Parkinson Way). Residents can now set up a customer account online. Create an account by selecting the “New Customer” button at rec.kelowna.ca. Once created, you can add family members to your account through the “My Groups/Family” feature.
