Description: The City is seeking proposals for a Design Builder to design, and ultimately construct, two arterial roadways with intersection improvements and utility upgrades.
The Project Corridors can be briefly summarized as follows:
Burtch 2 (Denver Rd to KLO Rd)
• 1.5 km Urban Arterial Road Upgrades c/w cycle tracks and utility improvements
• 1.25 km of 1200 mm sanitary sewer trunk main and 600 m of twin 400 mm sanitary sewer forcemains (sanitary sewer scope currently being designed by another consultant and to be delivered by the Design Builder team, which will be considered for early works)

Hollywood 7 (John Hindle Dr to Sexsmith Rd)
• 2.0 km Urban Arterial Road Upgrades c/w utility improvements and coordination with the future BC Transit Facility
Phase 1 - Design Phase
The successful submitter shall provide all efforts and resources necessary for the design phase, as described in Appendix D. Those outcomes are to include, but may not be limited to:
• Design Brief,
• Conceptual Design,
• Preliminary Design,
• Detailed Design, and
• Owner’s Statement of Requirements (OSR).
Phase 2 - Construction (Optional)
Once the intended design achieves, to the City’s satisfaction, acceptable budget, functionality, quality, lifecycle objectives, and aesthetics by the above noted efforts, a construction phase could be sought. The City reserves the right to directly invite the successful submitter of this RFP for Design Services to enter negotiations for a separate contract to provide all labour, materials, and equipment necessary to construct the Work according to the specifications developed.
Should the parties not be able to mutually agree to Contract terms, including a Stipulated Contract Price for Phase 2, then the City may at its sole discretion conduct a further procurement process to identify and contract with other parties to deliver Phase 2.
