Intro to F.A.M.E (Fitness and Mobility Exercise) - Monday 1:00 PM (May 5 - May 29)
Intro to FAME (Fitness and Mobility Exercise) is a community-based program for stroke survivors and is designed specifically and proven to improve fitness, mobility and strength. The small group class includes functional strength, agility and balance exercises. Suitable for people at any time after stroke who can stand for 5 minutes, walk for four metres (even with a walking aid) and communicate with the instructor. A research group from UBC, the team that is responsible for the development and implementation of FAME, will be contacting you to inquire about whether you would like to participate in a study done alongside the exercise class. This is completly optional and includes completing functional assessments outside of class time, and answering surveys regarding your experience. You may decline to participate in the study and still continue with the exercise class.
