Mission Recreation Park
About the Park
Mission Recreation Park is one of Kelowna’s largest recreation parks at 44 hectares. It has 13 sports fields and is a great place to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities including playing soccer and softball, going for a walk or jog, playing fetch, or relaxing and enjoying the scenery and birdwatching along the trails. The park links up with the Mission Creek Greenway and features an artificial turf field with lighting, off-leash dog area, playground, and community garden.
The park is home to MNP Place and the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre.
Future Park Plans
As Kelowna grows, our major recreation parks including the Mission, Glenmore, Rutland, and Parkinson Recreation Parks are being enhanced. Mission Recreation Park’s Master Plan features new amenities and purpose-built spaces to complement the existing park. Starting with two new ball diamonds in 2024 alongside the access on Lexington Drive.
In 2027, Mission Recreation Park will feature a new indoor multi-age activity centre to host community programs and events. In the heart of the park, south of the existing playground and adjacent to the future activity centre, the space will be transformed to support community connection with the creation of a Plaza of Champions. Also, just north of the Plaza will be a dedicated Youth Park.
