NeighbourWoods Trees go on sale! 2025-03-31 08:00

NeighbourWoods is a residential planting initiative developed to encourage citizens to help grow and preserve Kelowna’s urban forest. 

Residents can purchase up to two trees per household, with the exception of the Ivory Silk Japanese Tree Lilac which is limited to 1 per household, for the low price of $50 (plus GST) each.

Visit kelowna.ca/neighbourwoods to learn more and to pre-order. Sales are open from March 31 to April 21, or until trees are sold out.

EVOLVE Conference 2025-04-05

EVOLVE is a conference for non-profits hosted by the City of Kelowna and supported by United Way, First West Credit Union, Central Okanagan Foundation and EQ Development Group. The conference welcomes local and visiting non-profit executive directors, board members, senior leadership, managers, staff and volunteers to collaborate and connect through presentations and group breakout sessions!

At this one-day event, get tips, tricks and above all concrete solutions to build your organizations capacity. Choose from the 15 unique breakout sessions offered and curate your own personal learning journey. Topics range from finance to communications, organizational systems to people management. No matter the size or direction of your non-profit, there is a session for you!

Day of Mourning 2025-04-28 (All day)

During the Day of Mourning on Monday, Apr. 28, flags will be flown at half mast to remember those who have died or been injured in the workplace.

Winter Holiday Closures

City Hall will be closed for the holidays from Thursday, Dec. 25 through Thursday, Jan. 1, reopening and returning to regular hours on Friday, Jan. 2. 

Essential services such as police, fire, water supply, wastewater treatment and snow removal will remain in operation. For water, sewer, parks, roads, snow removal and after hour inquiries, contact the Infrastructure Operations call centre at 250-469-8600.

The closure has been planned around a low service demand period. Access to the City’s online services request system is available 24/7 at kelowna.ca/onlineservices.

Remembrance Day 2025-11-11 (All day)

City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, November 11 for Remembrance Day.

Other facilities may have modified hours:

  • Parkinson Recreation Centre will be open on Tuesday with adjusted hours from 10am to 3pm.
  • The Glenmore Landfill will be open regular hours from 7:30am to 4:45pm, with OgoGrow and GlenGrow compost available for pickup until 4pm.
  • The Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery administration office will be closed Tuesday, while cemetery gates are open throughout the long weekend from 7am to 6pm.

Thanksgiving 2025-10-13 (All day)

City Hall will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13 for the Thanksgiving statutory holiday.
