Winter holiday closures and hours at City properties
Kelowna City Hall will be closed for the holidays from Monday, Dec. 25 through Monday, Jan. 1, reopening and returning to regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Essential City services such as police, fire, bylaw, water, wastewater treatment and snow removal will remain in operation throughout the holidays. The non-emergency Police Services office will be closed Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26; and Monday, Jan. 1. The Kelowna International Airport (YLW) terminal building is open regular hours.
Access to the City’s online services request system is available 24/7 at kelowna.ca/onlineservices. For urgent water, sewer, parks, roads, snow removal and after-hours inquiries, contact the Civic Operations call centre at 250-469-8600. Bylaw requests can be made online through the service request system or by calling 250-469-8686.

The Glenmore Landfill (including recycling depot) will be closed on Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1. The landfill’s administration office will be closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 2. There are changes to curbside garbage collection during this period. Garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be collected on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, or New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1. As a result, curbside pick-up moves ahead one day, for everyone, during the last week of December and the first week of January.
Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery grounds will be open for visiting 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The administration office will be closed Dec. 25, Dec. 26, and Jan 1, and open with reduced hours (8 a.m.to noon) on Dec. 27, 28 and 29. Regular office hours will commence Jan. 2.
The Kelowna Community Theatre box office will be closed Dec. 24 – Dec. 26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Reducing operational hours during low service periods is economical for the City. Staff use vacation days or earned leave banks for closure days beyond statutory holidays.
The City of Kelowna’s social media channels will be quiet over the holidays. For more information about holiday hours and City facilities and services, visit kelowna.ca/calendar.
